Why do I need an ecology survey?

Protected species, habitats and designated sites are a material consideration in the planning process. Local authorities are required by law to assess the impact of development on protected species, habitats and sites. Planning authorities will often require an ecology survey to accompany the rest of the planning application.

When should I get my ecology survey?

Carrying out ecological surveys at the right time of year can be crucial to avoid costly and frustrating development delays. Surveys for many species can only be carried out at certain times of year, and if that window is missed, delays of several months may result. To prevent delays, your ecology survey should be carried out as soon as possible, at the start of the process.

Don’t wait to get your survey carried out promptly to prevent delays!
